LICA Pharmaceuticals A/S is a small Danish Biopharmaceutical Research and Development company. It was founded in April 2000. The company’s mission is to develop and commercialize novel and unique compounds for the treatment of bacterial and parasitic diseases. The company owns promising internationally acknowledged intellectual proprietary rights on different classes of small molecules and their use as well as research data and know-how on target molecules for these compounds. 

Ownership by LICA Pharmaceuticals of the novel compounds, their use and the technology is protected by several wide-ranging patent applications and issued patents.

The company's drug candidates against bacterai and some protozoan parasites such as malaria and leishmania are quite promising. The lead compounds are effective aganist a large number of bacteria such as antibiotic-resistant Staphylococci, Streptococci, Enterococci, and Anaerobic bacteria.
